সংক্ষিপ্ত বিবরন : Perhaps one of the best poets of all times, Rabindranath Tagore is a voice of inspiration in the pre-independence era of the Indian sub-continent. Gitanjali is one of his most famous works and he was awarded The Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913 for it, becoming the first non–European to receive the honor. The word “Gitanjali” means “Song Offerings”. The original Bengali Gitanjali contains 157 poems but when it was first published in 1912 by the India Society of London in English, it had only 50 originals. The remaining 53 poems were taken from his other works. This edition has an introduction by W. B. Yeats.
